Codebox Dropbox Sync

codebox dropbox sync

bla

Update: As codebox supports selecting the path for the snippet Library, there is no need for this workaround any more.

I actually found Codebox in Mac App Store. It is a very handy snippet manager and I like it a lot because it helps me writing all that code I always can´t remember when I need it.

For syncing my snippet-library on all my Macs I found a way to sync Codebox via Dropbox:

Quit Codebox

  • go to: user/Library/Preferences and move the file: com.shpakovski.mac.codebox.plist to your dropbox folder
  • Drop the Codebox Icon to the Dock
  • Press ALT while open Codebox in the Dock
  • You are asked to „create a new library“ or „choose new library“ in a dialog
  • Choose the Library in your Dropbox Folder
  • On your other Mac do this: delete library in Preferences Folder, open Codebox with ALT + click, choose your created dropbox-library

If this is not working, delete your existing library and create a new one (be carefull, alle your data will be gone):

  • Quit Codebox
  • go to: user/Library/Preferences and delete the file: com.shpakovski.mac.codebox.plist
  • Drop the Codebox Icon to the Dock
  • Press ALT while open Codebox in the Dock
  • You are asked to „create a new library“ in a dialog
Do that in your Dropbox Folder
  • On your other Mac do this: delete library, open Codebox with ALT + click, choose your created dropbox-library

This works perfect on my two Macs. Tell me if it works for you.

Browser-Musikvideo killed whatever

Arcarde Fire + HTML 5 = www.thewildernessdowntown.com

(interaktives Musikvideo zum Titel „We Used To Wait“ von Arcarde Fire)

Es ist schon schick, was man in modernen Webbrowsern so alles tun kann. Außerdem eine ziemlich gute Promotionaktion von Google, wenn man die Resonanz auf das Video beobachtet.
